One of the most common problems, one that I’ve not only experienced myself, but have had many people ask me for help with, is having trouble sleeping.
Since sleeping really is so deeply connected with our subconscious brain, there actually are a lot of energetic practices you could do to solve it and sleep soundlessly.
Not always, but majority of the time what disrupts our sleep pattern is holding onto to too much anxiety. That energy is bottled up within us and is too bold for our minds to set aside and allow themselves to rest.
So, one pro tip is to before bed: journal.
Journal out absolutely everything that is on your mind. No matter how little, how big, just get it all out. You don’t need to solve any problems or try to make anything better, you just need to talk it out and get it out of your system.
Create a relaxing environment, too. Light a soothing candle (gentle scents like vanilla and lavender are really great. A white candle is also preferred as white harnesses pure, healing energy), dim your lights, put your phone on sleep mode, and give yourself the proper time you need to express all of your emotions. Give a voice to them, free them from your energy field.
Once you’ve written out all of your feelings, you can even take a few more moments, even just a page or two of your journal, and write out a few goodthings. End on a good note by expressing gratitude towards the good things you have in your life currently or even reflect on a memory. Reflect on one of the best days of your life and remember how happy you felt.
By journaling in general, it really helps move out all that bundled up anxious energy that’s keeping you from sleeping and helps your subconscious mind be able to calm itself a bit better.
Another option is to do some light stretching / yoga before you go to bed. Again, dim your lights, light a soft scented candle, put on some nice meditation music, and stretch in all the ways that feel good to you. When you do this, again you’ll be moving you some of that energy out of your body. Plus, while you’re doing so, try to completely clear your mind and have no thoughts. This puts the mind at ease and will more likely help you to soundlessly snooze.
Meditating before bed is also a great solution to ease the subconscious brain. It’s even better if you can hold some crystals! Selenite will help cleanse your energy and honestly any black crystal like obsidian, black opal, or black tourmaline will help remove any negative energies, relax your mind, and protect you.
Turquoise is also a great healing stone so holding onto some turquoise can help heal your anxieties.
Burning sage (most people suggest to find eco-sourced sage) is so helpful and one that really helps me a lot. As you burn the sage bundle, wave it around your body to cleanse your aura as well as specifically waving it around your bed and every aspect of your room. As you do so you can say a little prayer in your head, asking to remove all lower energies, and to completely cleanse this space (and yourself) with beautiful, healing energies of love and light.
Cleansing your space is major - even if it's not necessarily anxiety that is preventing you from sleeping. Sometimes it could just be misaligned energy within your house or room that could be causing the problem. It also could just be some cosmic energies going on. So cleanse your space every night before you go to bed! Ask all lower energies to leave, ask to close any portals and visualize removing all weird energy elsewhere (a trick I recently learned!). Imagine your entire space bathed in white light (I also enjoy using rainbow light!) and even declare that your space is only available for energies of the highest level of light and love.
Another one that I found most helpful, is actually to call upon spirit for help.
If you enjoy working with the Archangels and Ascended Masters, calling upon the combo of Archangel Raphael, Healer Padre Pio, and Jesus are a really great combo. Keep in mind too that you can use these spirits regardless of your religion. Yes, even a spirit like Jesus can help people who don’t practice a specific religion - as the Archangels and Ascended Masters are true loving beings that are happy to help everyone.
So call upon whoever feels best to you - you can even ask your particular spirit guide / guardian angel or even your higher self!
In your head, call upon them and say something along the lines of : “Thank you (insert spirit names) for surrounding me in beautiful energies of healing love and light. Thank you for allowing me to get a full night’s sleep. Thank you for allowing me to sleep soundly throughout the night so that way when I wake I will feel completely rested and full of vibrant energy. Thank you.”
That’s all you have to do! Say that and then attempt to sleep - and it truly is a miracle at how fast it can work. Several years ago I had such trouble sleeping and my psychic mentor advised me with this practice and I was amazed at how well it worked. It even helped me feel more energies the following day! It’s definitely a blessing and I highly recommend!
Also keep in mind that there's so much power in your words! So by continuing to speak and think "I can't sleep" you create more of that. I know that's probably really obnoxious advice and I'm sorry haha, but it's sooo true! So actively remove those "I can't" vibes from your dictionary, and replace them with "I sleep so well at night!" and other empowering variations such as: “I can sleep,” “I’m so grateful now that I’m sleeping soundly” “Every night, I get a full, complete good night’s sleep.” Etc, etc, craft it to fit whatever feels good to you!
Your words have power! So use them wisely to create more of what you do want!
Never underestimate how powerful a simple declaration and shift of your words/thoughts can be.
My final recommendations is to look for any other patterns that may be affecting your sleep - maybe you are eating snacks too late or maybe you’re watching too intense of TV shows.
I personally try to save super dramatic intense action-packed tv shows for the evening as opposed to right before I’m going to sleep, as I noticed that when it’s too much it definitely can affect my sleep. So I try to make the last thing I watch be light hearted or even try to read. Again though it’s all personal preference, so if you realize that watching intense shows doesn’t affect you, by all means carry on!
Another thing I’ve personally noticed is that I have trouble sleeping if I didn’t exercise or move in someway during the day (again this helps moves out energy, tires us out a little, and creates happy endorphins), so getting in some form of exercise (no matter how short or long) can absolutely help you sleep a bit better at night as well!
I hope all of these helped you! For me personally, saging my bedroom and asking the angels is usually a guarantee of a good night’s sleep!
