This week I turned 30! I’ve obviously grown a lot, but I have to say from age 18-30 is definitely when I experienced the most growth. I feel (and look!) like a different person! I’m so grateful for everything I experienced because it all made me so wise and strong, and has given me the wisdom to help others. I’ve learned so much about life, love, friendships, universal energy, and of course, myself. I’m super proud of how far I’ve come, I’ve made some of the best things happen, and I know some of the best days are still yet to come.
So, in honor of my 30 years, I decided to share 30 of the best life lessons I’ve learned!
These are in no particular order - just the order they popped into my head! I hope you enjoy!
You have control over your life. If you want to be living a certain way, if you want to reach certain goals - you can absolutely find ways to make it happen. You just have to actually go for it!! Don’t say you will and then never start. Don’t try then give up. Never give up on your dreams if they’re what you really want to do! It may take over a decade, but so long as you keep geniunely putting in the effort, trusting your path, and believing, you canmake it happen! I promise you!
Rejection is protection. If you don’t get what you wanted, it’s because the universe is either protecting you from something not for your highest good - or it has something even better in store for you! (This is very true for romantic partners and for jobs!)
It’s totally okay to change your mind on what your dreams are. We grow, we change - If your former dream no longer interests you, or if you realized it wasn’t what you thought you wanted, it’s okay to switch course and pick a new dream! You’re not a failure, you’re not giving up, you’ve just changed and that’s okay!!!
A passion doesn’t have to be or turn into a money making profession - it’s okay to do something just because it’s fun!
It’s never too late to find love. It’s never too late to get rich. It’s never too late to go back to school. It’s never too late to change your career. You are never behind - you are always exactly were you’re meant to be in all areas of your life.
The best way to attract more wealth is to realize that all the everyday items you have already make you wealthy. Air conditioning, internet, so many food options, clean water, a closet full of clothes, vacations every year, a comfortable bed, these are modern luxuries and not everyone is fortunate enough to have them. So enjoy them, appreciate them, and realize you already are wealthy! Repeat that to yourself “I already am wealthy! I am so grateful”- and watch as you find yourself becoming a magnet to wealth.
How people treat you / criticize you is always a reflection of what’s going on internally within them. They’re projecting their own insecurities / own issues / warped sense of reality and it actually has nothing to do with you.
No one is ever worthy of dimming your light. People only have as much power over you as you let them. Remember how strong you are.
You can survive any heartbreak (whether it’s a romantic breakup or friendship breakup) it may take a while - so always be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to heal. But one day, you’ll wake up and realize it doesn’t hurt so much anymore. And beyond that one day you’ll wake up and you’ll forget that person existed. You truly can live without them. Plus, don’t let a heartbreak stop you from loving others or enjoying your life.
When you talk to your loved ones on the other side, they will absolutely hear you. They never truly leave you. If you listen closely, you might even be able to receive a message back. Keep your eyes open for signs they send you. They’re bonus guardian angels for you. You are highly intuitive; you can communicate with them.
You’ll always make more money - buy the concert tickets, go on the trip, experience something cool - if you know it’s going to be one of the best moments of your life, it’ll always be worth it. You’ll always be able to make more money. My 20 year old self once nearly emptied my bank account to see One Direction and it was easily top 5 favorite moments of my life - they also broke up so I wouldn’t have gotten another chance, and since then I have made all that money back and so much more.
Go out of your way to make awesome things happen. If you’re finding yourself scrolling through social media jealous of others’ plans…make your own plans! Go out of your way to find something super cool and super fun to do every free day you can (invite your friends along, too!)
It’s okay to spend an entire day laying on the couch watching every Harry Potter. On a snow day, I once played Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for 8 hours and ate an entire box of Thin Mints and I still remember how happy I felt that day. Resting and chill days are super necessary.
You are more beautiful than you think. Plus, no one will ever scrutinize yourself as much as you will. No one is going to notice how big your pores are or if your tummy isn’t completely flat - and if they do, maybe they’ll think about it for one second and then go back to analyzing their own body. Your body is beautiful just the way it is. Love it. Appreciate it. Thank it for all it does to keep you alive. But also know if you want to lose weight or gain weight, that’s okay, too! You should be able to love your body every step of the way while also still working to get to where you feel your best!
Your thoughts & beliefs determine your life. Your life is just a product of the story you’ve been telling yourself on repeat. Your brain always wants to prove you right, no matter what you’re thinking. So, get your thoughts, beliefs, and story aligned to the life you want to be living. Embody the version of you who already has what you want, feel grateful as if you’re already living it. Visualize already living it. Dedicate yourself to your mindset every day and miracles will happen.
Be nice to everybody. Seriously, everybody. You never know what stuff they have going on on the inside. If they’re a jerk, still be nice to them. And if it annoys them that you’re so nice, again, it’s just a reflection upon them, not you. Like that saying goes - “how someone treats you is their karma, how you react is yours.” ( I believe that comes from Wayne Dyer!)
Never settle in love. Don’t settle for someone you’re meh about. Don’t drag relationships out more than they need to because you feel bad or feel like they need you. Don’t be afraid to leave someone because then you’ll be alone. You deserve amazing, romantic, movie-esq love. And it’s possible for you - but if you’re settling for meh people, you’re going to miss out on it.
Whatever fashion look you think is cute - I promise you can pull it off! People always think "oh that looks cute on her but I can't pull it off" - the only difference between you and her is that she believes she can rock it! You are fabulous enough to wear any fashion style you want - go for it!
The best way to attract love is to fully love yourself and accept that if the universe wanted you to be alone forever, you’d still be able to find happiness and magic. Being in this energy is usually exactly what attracts true love to you!
If you ever feel different from the people you’re around, it just means its not your right people. It’s doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you - it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with them. It’s just not your tribe, so keep looking. Keep staying true to yourself and the right people will come along.
Whoever is meant to be in your life, will always be. Who ever is not meant to be, the universe will find a way to kick them out.
If you see someone else achieving what you want, all it is is proof that it can happen to you, too! If they made it happen, why can’t you, too? We only ever see what’s on our frequency, so if you’re seeing it - its the universe showing you what’s possible for you!
A desire wouldn’t exist in your heart if you weren’t capable of achieving it. Trust your dreams exist there for a reason and that they’re possible for you.
Surround yourself with positive like-minded people. Listen to empowering people everyday via audiobooks or podcasts or YouTube videos. Read inspiring books, follow inspirational accounts on social media (and unfollow the super negative downer accounts). Have empowering discussions with friends. Lift the vibe of your circle up!
Allow yourself to really FEEL all your emotions. Don’t shy away from the deeper ones. You have to feel them in order to heal them. So process them and then, when you’re ready let them go.
You don’t have to follow the set narrative of life society sets up. You don’t have to work corporate, you don’t have to have kids, you don’t have to live in the suburbs, get married by 30, and retire at 65. It’s YOUR life - make up whatever story you want. You are in control of the narrative. (Of course if you want those things that’s totally okay too!)
You can’t change the past so there’s no use worrying about it. The future hasn’t happened (and anything can happen) so there’s no use worrying about it. Live in the present, it’ll really help you cut out your anxiety.
Choose to focus on what’s right, not what’s wrong. Choose to focus on what if everything does work out, as opposed to what if everything goes wrong.
Follow your heart, follow what’s fun, follow what lights you up. Trust your gut. You are highly intuitive. Listen to yourself more.
Stand up for yourself. Use your voice. Your opinion matters; don’t let other people walk all over you. You are powerful!
And a bonus for good luck!!!
What’s meant for you will never pass you!!
I could definitely think of so many more, but these are what popped in first, so I trust it’s the messages spirit wants you to hear first!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed these and I hope they resonated! <3
