One of the most major aspects of manifestation deals with your core level of identity. What this means is: what type of person do you identify as? What’s the story you’re telling yourself of who you are / what’s possible for you / how life works for you?
Our identity basically starts getting compiled from the time we’re super young when our parents, our siblings, our teachers, and our peers start to tell us things about us. These things about us seep into our subconscious mind and we unintentionally cement them as our truth.
If your parent tells you you’re lazy, you may adapt “I’m lazy” as part of your identity.
If your sibling tells you you’re annoying, you may adapt “I’m annoying” as part of your identity.
If your teacher constantly fails you no matter how hard you try, you may adapt “I’m not good enough” as part of your identity.
If when you get older, no one in your class or grade or school wants to date you, you may adapt “I’m not lovable or good looking” as your identity.
There’s an endless string of things others have told us about ourself that we’ve accepted that really get in our way.
Could be things like being clumsy, being broke, being bad at math, being uncreative, being a terrible driver, being bad at interviews and thus unable to get jobs, being unlikable … etc etc.
Of course, there are positive parts of our identity that seep in.
You could’ve been told as a child you’re a great leader, and that stuck with you and now “leader” is a part of your identity.
People could’ve told you you’re so pretty or smart or great at art and those stuck as part of your identity.
Maybe you noticed on your own you were a fantastic athlete because when playing sports you were always the best one on the team and praised as such, so being a good athlete became part of your identity.
All of these things stay with us throughout our lifetime and really just compile who we think we are / what story we’re telling ourselves / and what is possible for us.
And as you may know, when it comes to manifestation, the Universe is always responding to your vibration. Whatever story you’ve got on repeat about who you are and what’s possible for you and how life goes, is the frequency the Universe is going to match and show to you.
So, take a moment now to really think and analyze what stories have you adapted about yourself? What have you made your identity?
What did your parents tell you about you? What did your teachers? What did your peers? What did your friends? What did your romantic partners? What did your bosses? What have you yourself told yourself about you?
Think of both positives and negatives of each and see how they really, truly formed your identity.
Now, keep the positives of course, but we definitely want to let go of the negatives or anything that is really holding you back in order for you to shift your identity so you can manifest whatever it is you truly want out of life.
Once you’ve identified the negative parts of your identity prove how it’s not true.
Maybe your parents said you’re lazy - but have you ever worked hard on even one single thing? Have you ever not been lazy?
Maybe you have the identity that you’re unloveable - but have you ever had even gone on just one date with someone? Or had anyone been interested in you?
Maybe you have the identity that it’s impossible for you to be the weight you want, that you’re always uncomfortable in your skin - but have you ever in your life ever felt confident about your appearance?
If for some reason you can’t prove a belief wrong, that’s okay! Instead, try to identify “who told me this?” And recognize that if it came from someone else, it’s not your original thought - therefore it can have zero power over you!
Afterwards, imagine all those negative and now proven untrue parts of your identity, vanishing from your existence. You can ask Archangel Michael to cut the chords and help them melt away, ask Saint Germaine to use the Violet Flame to burn them away, You can literally make a list and safely burn it yourself, or you can just simply imagine them as gray/unhelpful energy leaving you and being turned into beautiful rainbow light and filling yourself up with that rainbow light.
Afterwards, make a list of what parts of your identity you wish to be true.
For example: I am great at money! I am lovable. I am beautiful inside and out. I am smart.
If it still feels like a struggle, you can change it to: “I am choosing to believe that I can be good at money” & maybe even write down ways you want to be good at money.
Use these new parts of your identity as affirmations and keep actively trying to embody them. Every time your old story pops up, take a deep breath, and reminder yourself that’s no longer true, and replace it with your new identity.
Affirmations and believing this new identity are key, but also make sure you are engaging in actions that support your new identity.
Example if you’ve changed your identity to someone confident, you’ll want to start dressing the way you want, you’ll want to start speaking up for yourself and speaking with confidence, you’ll want to not shy away from things you want to do but scare you - choose to be confident!
Example if you’ve changed your identity to someone who is lucky, you’ll want to enter contests, play lotto, expect to win, expect the good parking spaces, expect the trains to be on time, except unexpected surprises. Feel it and know it within you!
Once you’ve been able to shift your identity, things will moreso naturally start flowing to you! Of course you can still do your manifestation rituals in whatever way that feels good to you, but it will be a much easier flow because you’ve shifted your subconscious identity to support these manifestations!
