Money. It’s such a huge part of our lives that influences so many of our decisions:
What to study in college; where to even go to college; what field to enter and what job to take; where to live and how many people we need to live with (I’m a native New Yorker I get this! LOL); etc etc.
It’s not fun making big life decisions based around money. After college, when it was hard to find a job, I took any job I was offered just because I was told I needed money to pay off student loans. I changed jobs so often just because of the money and not because it was what I really wanted to do; because I had been told the things I really wanted to do (like spiritual work or writing books) didn’t make money or at least consistent money.
So, I spent years in a job that made me miserable; with no time to do the work I loved or to do what would really fulfill my soul.
I know money is technically just energy and technically as easy to manifest as a slice of pizza or a parking spot - but, it’s also a necessity in our Earthly existence. It also determines a lot of our lives. So, by that principle we put a lot of pressure on it. We put money, even the energy of money on a platform, that we need, because we equate more money with happiness and freedom.
Which is totally okay, money does bring happiness and freedom. I think in a lot of ways money has been demonized, but it’s not money that’s good or bad. Money is a neutral entity. It’s up to the user to use that money for good things or for not so good things. It’s up to the user to let greed take over or to let generosity fill their soul.
There’s fantastic, kind, amazing rich people and there’s really awful, terrible rich people. Exactly how there’s wonderfully kind poor people and completely horrible poor people; there’s also lovely middle class people and deplorable middle class people.
It’s not the amount of money that determines a person’s inherent goodness; it’s the person themselves that determines that!
So, that’s your first step in bettering your money mindset and becoming a magnet to money: realizing that money isn’t good or bad, it’s neutral, it’s the user of the money that determines that.
Let go of any thoughts of money or rich people being evil, because if you harbor those thoughts or think of money as negative in anyway, it energetically starts to block you off from it.
Energy attracts like energy. Money is energy - so if you think it’s the source of evil, money isn’t going to want to be around you. But if you see it as an awesome tool that can be used for great things, for fun things, for helpful things, and make a difference in lives - then it’s going to want to be around you.
Personally, I really started to look around at everything I have, all my “everyday” items and thought “I already am wealthy!” And I genuinely felt it!
I realized I have air conditioning to keep me cool on a hot day, I have heat to keep me warm on a cold day, I have options for all my meals and access to clean water. I have a comfortable bed to sleep in every night, I have multiple streaming services to keep me entertained, I have a phone to connect me to friends and all of you! I have electricity, I have options for dresses, shoes, headbands, and purses, therefore I AM wealthy!
I realized I had been previously thinking of being wealthy as having hundreds of thousands & millions in the bank, multiple Chanel bags, exotic vacations constantly - and yes that is wealth, but all these things we already have like air conditioning, Internet, enough food to feed ourselves and a steady place to sleep, ARE forms of wealth in themselves!
These things have become so “everyday” we’ve gotten used to them - but money very well helped us out with all of them. Not everyone is lucky enough to have them - so the fact that we have them IS wealth!
So feeling deep gratitude & acknowledging I already was wealthy in more ways than I thought really helped me attract more (including more sales & unexpected payments!) So I definitely encourage you to try that this week!
Just know that you are so wealthy! You’ve attracted all these wonderful modern conveniences so of course you can attract more.
Remember, Your words have so much power, so watch how you speak about money.
Think of it this way; if you constantly talked about a friend negatively, how would they feel? Not great right, and they most likely would not want to be your friend anymore. Money is also kind of the same way there! If you’re complaining about money or participating in group conversations about how everything is so expensive and unaffordable, that energetically pushes money away, too.
Now of course, we live in reality, sometimes things are expensive and unaffordable … but that doesn’t mean you have to participate in these conversations. For me personally, when this happens, I like to affirm in my head “Everything is affordable for me. Money is everywhere. Their truths are not my truths.” I don’t say this out loud, because usually people will get mad and triggered lol, but if I can, I try to steer the conversation to something more uplifting. The words we speak always become our truth; you don’t want to get stuck into that cycle of thinking everything is expensive and unaffordable because then that becomes your truth.
Even if what they were talking about is actually way out of my affordability zone too, I choose not to see it that way, because I don’t want it to become my truth.
Another great money mindset shift is to instead of seeing something as unaffordable, ask yourself: How can I afford that?
Maybe you could sell some things you no longer use, maybe you could ask for a raise at work, maybe you could get a promotion or apply for a new job, maybe you could start up a side-business online, maybe you could start investing your money in stocks, maybe you could ask for a loan, maybe you could take coins to that Constar machine or to the bank, maybe you could cut down spending elsewhere to prioritize for this thing you want, maybe you could clean your room and see if you’ll find any extra money in a purse or anywhere else, maybe it’s almost your birthday and someone will send you a gift, etc. etc. Start recognizing there are endless possibilities of where money could come from; it’s just a matter of thinking smartly about it; of not giving up; and adapting the mantra that money is everywhere, you just have to find it!
Reframe your money mindset by figuring out what limiting beliefs you’re currently harboring around it - like it’s evil or it’s hard to make or you have to work really, really hard non-stop, hustle & grind, to get it - and imagine letting them go. Instead, reframe your beliefs and change your story to the things you want to believe about money.
Every thought creates a new neural pathway in your brain. The more you think certain things, the easier it becomes for the brain to follow that pathway. So, that’s why it’s so easy to get stuck into that rut that you’re broke or money is hard to come by.
But if you start thinking new thoughts, like money is everywhere, money comes easily, that neural pathway gets stronger and the other gets weaker.
Create new affirmations, new truths that support the relationship with money you want to have: like “Money flows to me everyday in everyday!”
It may feel hard at first, and if it feels uncomfortable and you don’t believe it you can change it to “I am choosing to believe that money can flow to me everyday in every way.” Or “I am choosing to believe that I am wealthy” Keep repeating it in your head throughout your day, or journaling daily or weekly (whatever feels good to you), because the more you repeat it, the more you can cement it in your brain.
The more your brain starts to accept this truth, the more likely your vibration will naturally match that of wealth, and the more likely you’ll naturally attract it.
Also don’t forget to embody the version of you who already has the wealth - whenever you can come from the “It is done” attitude it’s really truly so powerful.
Remember, if it was actually already done, it wouldn’t be something you’d be worrying about or stressed about, you’d be neutral about it. You’d be excited, happy, and confident. So feel those feelings now, feel those feelings first, and feel them consistently.
You can make your life’s story anything you want; you have the power to make a change at anytime. <3
