Last year I did a blog post for your 2022 year in Numerology and it was really popular, so I’m back with Your 2023 year in Numerology! A lot of it will be the same as last years post, but I did update it slightly!
So, in numerology we each experience our own personal year, which can be found by adding up our birthdates with the current new year.
For example, my birthday is September 5th. So, I’d do:
9+5+2+0+2+3 = 21
(If your birthdate or month is a double digit, for example say you are December 14th, you’d do 1+2+1+4 as opposed to 12+14 … felt the need to include that since both my birthdates are single digits!)
And then whatever the sum is, you’d further break it down to a single digit because personal years will only ever be 1 through 9 :
So like mine equaled 21 so I’d do:
2+1 = 3!
So my 2023 would be a 3!
Depending on the number, it will represent the personal themes you will most likely be experiencing throughout this year.
Personally, I’ve found it to be very accurate; I think learning (especially in hindsight) what numerology year I had been going through and what went on over the duration of the year, it really did match up.
Of course, like everything, there are other factors involved, so your year may not be 100% spot on… and of course, everything is balance, so it could have a positive aspect or a negative aspect depending on your energy, your mindset, or what’s going on around you.
Either way, it’s fun to know what personal year you are in because when you can be prepared for what challenges may arise, you’ll be better equipped to handle them.
Plus, sometimes it’s just purely fun to know these things!
So, here’s a break down of what each personal year means. I also am including examples of what when on during my life when I experienced each year, so hopefully that’ll be helpful for you too!
Honestly, adding in the personal stuff was really cool for me to reflect on my past 9 years, it’s fun to see that there was a theme and there was a plan ahead! So If you have the time, I encourage you to go through your last 9 years and see how they matched up to the numerical theme. It’s really great for you to reflect, see how far you’ve come, and to also (Hopefully) see that everything really did work out for your highest good.
It would be a really great journaling prompt to go through each of the years and see how they matched up with the numerical theme (This way you can know what to expect for future years to come!)
Anyway, without further ado, here’s your personal years + my own personal examples.
Personal 1 year: New Beginnings, a theme of focusing on yourself
This year, very appropriately so, is all about rebirth. It’s about a new start, a new journey. After experiencing a 9 year where it’s the end of the cycle, this year is about finding yourself, beginning new adventures, and really just going after what YOU want. It’s a self-discovery year for sure, but also one where you can fully take chances and start any new endeavors you’ve been looking for. It’s also a time where new ideas may pop into your head and for you to start new projects.
A great example, my best friend moved from NY to LA in her personal 1 year - a brand new start! A new chapter.
For me, I experienced this in 2021.
2021 definitely was a new beginning for me. For starters, it was the first year I ever worked for myself fully! I didn’t have to listen to any bosses or teachers, I was fully on my own schedule (Something I dreamed of since I was 5 years old and refused to go to Kindergarten LOL). For the first time in my entire life, I was able to decide how each and every day went for me. It was beyond refreshing.
I also received a publishing deal by someone reaching out to me out of the blue (they were fans of my instagram account and just happened to be the head of a self-help department for a publisher) - so I started a new project!
It really was a fresh, new start, and a new beginning to life I always dreamed of.
Personal 2 year: Balance, Harmony, Partnership
While your previous 1 year was all about focusing on yourself, this year is more about making connections with others. I read once that its about shifting focus from “me” to “we” which I think is really nicely said. This would be a good year to advance romantic relationships (or start them), and it’s a great year to collaborate with others in business or fun side projects.
It’s a year of balance as well, which means it’s so important to find a true genuine balance between work and play (and if you don’t the Universe will kind of step in and force it for you!)
This is a year about getting into harmony and peace both within and without. It’s about accepting the shadow side and the light. It’s like in Star Wars, the Force has both a light side and a dark side, and both are necessary to create true balance which will bring peace to the galaxy. Sorry but you can’t expect me to say Balance without giving you a Star Wars reference hahahaha. 🙈
It’s also kind of a middle year - it’s said that you start new projects in a 1 year, work on them in a 2, and they come to fruition in a 3.
For me, I experienced this in 2022 (and last experienced it in 2013)
Now having completed 2022, I can say that it absolutely was the same exact vibe as my personal 2013.
This very much was a middle year for me. For most it honestly, I felt stuck. I felt like I wasn’t exactly where I was anymore, but I wasn’t at my next destination yet. It was a year of patience (so there’s that finding that balance!) and I did a lotttttttt of healing. I spent most of this year working with the amazing Emily the Mystic going into my Akashic Records where we’d do some deep healing. I felt myself getting very easily triggered and angry this year, so we’d go into my records to help understand why. We healed many limiting beliefs of just vibes within me from my past life & from my childhood. We cut so many cords and realigned my energy. It really did help tremendously.
Honestly, it was a slow year. It felt similar to 2013 in that the first half was exciting. In 2013 I graduated college! I had so much fun with my friends at the end of the school year with all the exciting senior things … and then when I moved back home I felt stuck. I felt like I didn’t belong there but I couldn’t go back to my old life in the city with my friends, that was done. I felt in a limbo for most of that year.
2022 had some exciting things in the beginning. My book got published! I went to Star Wars Celebration and met all my fav actors and got invited to red carpet premiers and had the best time!
Then, the rest of the year I just felt stuck and in a limbo and like I didn’t know what to do or where I belonged or how I could get to where I wanted to. It felt like every time I’d take a step forward, a step backwards would come (that’s how 2013 felt too). Both years, 2013 and 2022 I also found it was harder for me to make money than any other year.
But, with the help of Emily, with doing that healing, with embodying patience, and with really dedicating myself to my mindset/manifestation routines and journey, in December I started to finally feel clarity again. (Granted I also want to mention that this year was my Saturn’s Return, and I know it’s ending soon, so could be that as well affecting my energy during this time!)
Personal 3 year: Communication, Social energy, creative energy
A 3 year holds a big social energy. It’s a time where getting together with friends is the norm, where you meet lots of new and interesting people, and where you do, in a sense, have fun! It’s a good time to connect with others.
This year is also about communication - where you can be forced to speak up for yourself or have some deep life chats and conversations that push you out of your comfort zone.
3 also holds a creative energy and it’s said that this is the year to “reap the rewards” of the seeds you planted in years 1 and 2.
For me, I last experienced this in 2014 (and I will experience it again in 2023).
I’m personally excited for 2023! I feel like big things are coming, especially because 2014 was a good year for me.
2014 was definitely a social year for me. In the summer, I worked at a summer camp out in the Hamptons and I lived out there for the entire summer. So, I was surrounded by my fellow co-workers constantly, all new people, and had lots of group outings, beach bonfires, and fro-yo dates (it was 2014 after all haha). The coolest part? The camp hired a lot of workers from the UK (which if you know me, you know I love, love meeting people from other countries because I love learning about other cultures straight from the people who live it.).
As appropriate to the 3 year, I did meet a lot of new interesting people and had lots of really fascinating conversations where I learned a lot about England, Wales, Scotland, and even Australia!
Becoming good friends with these people, actually led me to go visit all of them in 2015 too (I definitely manifested it because they were kind enough to let me stay at their homes, so I genuinely only had to pay for a flight!)
2014 I also got to travel more and had lots of fun times with friends. The world felt light again after the stuckness of 2013, I felt hopeful and money came more easily. 2014 was also probably the only year ever that I actually had fun at my job and proved that earning money could be fun!
Personal 4 year: Breakthrough year; overcoming challenges
It’s a year of doing the work and building foundations to get to where you want to go. They say that this year will either be “a breakthrough or break you.” That to me is a bit negative, because I truly don’t believe anything will ever break you entire. I think it just means that its a year that will test you and your strength; anything that isn’t meant to be in your life will get ripped away, but what’s meant to be can also grow stronger.
It’s also supposedly a good year to make changes, to push yourself, to challenge yourself, to work hard and go for it!
For me, I last experienced this in 2015.
So I looked at a bunch of pictures from 2015 and it was actually a pretty good year for me.
I started the year traveling to visit my friends in the UK (which was super exciting and amazing), and when I returned it took me a couple months to get hired by a job again, so it was several months of “what is going on in my life” lol, but when I did get a job, finally in graphic design, it was the highest I had been paid up until that point. However, it was only temporary freelance and come fall, I had to get a new job. But I did stand up to a job offer that wanted to pay me too low and instead took a job teaching kids in a low-income area about video and design. I didn’t have a solid love interest this year but that also meant I didn’t really have any heartbreaks. I was actually just kind of happy-ish? I had a lot of fun with my friends and I also started to be more confident in myself.
The 4 year definitely didn’t break me, I think of this more as a set-up year for me personally.
Personal 5 year: Change, a turning point! Freedom,
This is a year where you play around with what freedom means to you. I also read somewhere (and I genuinely can’t remember where) that this year can be dubbed as the “party year” and I firmly believe that is 100% true because that’s what I experienced. 5 is the number of change and this year can be a lot of change but depending on your mindset it could be big, exciting, positive, empowering change! Either way, whatever change you are going through in this year, it will set you up for the next couple years of your life (the end of your cycle)
For me, I last experienced this in 2016.
2016 truly was a wild year of energy. I manifested things like instantly and literally had majority of my dreams came true. I manifested a trip to Paris for my birthday (and finally got to go to Versailles, a place I had dreamed bout since I learned it existed at like age 14…. Also got to go to Disneyland Paris!) I also did a Shark cage dive with my cousin which is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
I also landed a job for a particular sports league that I had dreamed of working for most of my life. (This was my former big dream…no longer my dream because sports is a toxic industry to work in, but still proud of myself for achieving it!)
Also, for some reason, I felt like I got asked out so many times and so many boys liked me!!! I never used online dating either, this was just all people I was meeting in real life one way or another. I was asked out on more dates that year than probably in my previous couple years combined.
Funny enough, I didn’t realize it at the time, but I also met who would become the love of my life that year. He didn’t ask me out this year; we genuinely became best friends first, but I still met him in this year and to me that absolutely made this crazy, wonderful, party year a huge success!
Personal 6 year: Love and relationships with others
This year is centered around your relationships; lots of healing, and understanding where people stand in your life. I’ve heard this one dubbed as the “marriage or divorce year”. It means it’s either a year where you make commitments or you have them broken down. It doesn’t necessarily have to be marriage or divorce in your love life, it can be in anything! A commitment or a breakup to your career, to your personal growth, to your friends, to traveling, to yourself, whatever it is!
But in relationships, it can be a year where you realize you’re deeply in love with someone or you can realize that your relationship is just not working.
For me, I last experienced this in 2017
Oh man is THIS one accurate for me! In 2017, I realized this boy I went on a few dates with and talked to at the end of 2016 really sucked (HAHA for lack of a better term).
I focused a lot on healing my love mindset that year (I also did this on my own, funny enough, I actually didn’t realized I was in a personal 6 year until the following year)
At the very end of 2017, I also realized that I was deeply in love with my co-worker turned best friend. (& if you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that person is Justin, whom I am still together with!)
Personal 7 year: spiritual awakening, intuition, learning more, deeper life truths
This is the year to go deep! This is your year of discovering deeper spiritual truths. You may start to realize things you never even thought about before and you may start to question a lot of things about life and the way things are done. You may be more inclined to study spiritual truths or learn more about yourself. Your intuition will be up this year as well, so hone into those skills!
For me, I last experienced this in 2018.
Another year that super checks out to the vibe. This was the year I literally had my enough is enough moment. I was sooo tired of my job and love life and things not necessarily going my way, so I decided to dive really, really deep into manifestation. I had known about manifestation since 2010, but I only honed in on it every once in while for things like concert tickets. I wanted more, I wanted to make the big stuff happen. So, I enrolled in a big manifestation course, and really dedicated myself to letting go of my limiting beliefs, learning new truths, and creating my life.
I also prayed to the Angels for advice on what to do and had the guidance to create oracle cards and sell them myself. So, my business was born! I started La Rose des Rêves in 2018! It may have been a bit different this year - it was just heavy on the positivity cards (I posted pictures with way too many sparkles haha) and I wasn’t really the face of my brand yet, but the messages were still the same and it still brought me lots of fulfillment. Having my business also in a way positively forced me to stay on track and stick to my spiritual practices and think of positivity daily.
In this year too, I also finally started dating my best friend/my true love. While we both fell in love with each other the year before, we definitely each had a few more things to learn (again playing on that theme of discovering more, learning life lessons), and come summer, our relationship finally started in the most amazing way, and it’s been amazing ever since!
Personal 8 year: Abundance, Success, Power
8, being the infinity symbol, is all about abundance. This is a really great year to step into your power in your career, your ambition, and your dreams. It’s basically the year to go for it! Think of this year as if you’re in the realm of Harry Potter and you just took Liquid Luck - expect endeavors to go your way! It’s also a great year for money. You can literally become a magnet to money this year if you so believe; so fix your money mindset and expect great things!
For me, I last experienced this in 2019.
This year is absolutely true about money. This was the year, within three months of deciding, I manifested a new corporate job that paid me double my current salary. I also had a great year in my business; my profit actually wound up being the exact amount of the taxes taken out of my corporate salary - so it was like I made that actual full salaried amount.
I also had an abundance of love - this was the first full calendar year being in a relationship with my true love.
I also was able to have lots of fun experiences; like going on a cruise to the Caribbean, going to LA & Disneyland as my first trip away with my true love, seeing the Jonas Brothers reunite at the Garden, singing Happy Birthday to Taylor Swift at Jingle Ball, and having lots of fun photoshoots with my friends.
This year a lot felt like it came together for me. As of writing this in December 2022, I’d say this was definitely my best year ever.
Personal 9 year: The End of a Cycle, clearing out the old to make way for the new
Every phase of our life comes and goes in 9 year cycles. So, once you get to the end of your 9 year cycle its usually a lot of upheaval and big changes. The universe forces you to deal with things you may have pushed off, you’ll be forced to release all that no longer serves you. You may experience lots of chaos and discomfort, but it’s all to get rid of the old, so the universe can clear it out and make space to bring you new, amazing things.
For me, I last experienced this in 2020.
Which I think is very appropriate as the world literally went into chaos. Dealing with a 9 year at the start of the pandemic was not an easy one. I really felt this was a year of major, major release, especially finally getting rid of things that no longer served me.
There were some good moments and a lot of things I was grateful for, but it also had some tough themes and some big painful moments that were hard for me to deal with and to let go of the pain within the aftermath.
During this year, I had a falling out with a childhood friend (which was a toxic relationship as we really only ever argued constantly in our decade long friendship anyway). It really taught me a lot about how everyone sees things through their own perspective and we can’t control how others view us, so it’s better to just save your breath and let it go. I think the Universe wanted me to release this friendship for a while, so the 9 year made sure this was the end to not take this friendship into the next cycle.
I also had major job drama. I always hated working corporate and I especially hated the sports job I was currently in. Working from home, while a delight with no commute, was a nightmare because they treated me like they owned my soul 24/7 because they knew with the pandemic I wasn’t going anywhere, and they expected me to answer them and do work all the time. They also refused to give me a day off. I had to beg for one after a full year. I had to go 13 months without one day off. They also made me work weekends and late nights. I got in trouble for things like eating dinner. I remember being up at midnight once and they were still bothering me to make edits on a piece.
Not long after that, I was laid off.
Honestly, it felt like when you’re in a relationship and you want to break up with them and they break up with you first. It made me feel so bad and rejected, even though I despised them.
The pain of that plus my former friend fallout was a lot and I’d alternate between feeling bad about each situation. So one day, I just went into a deep meditation to connect with my angels and ask them why.
I remember them (I believe it was Gabriel and Haniel) straight up telling me, “why are you upset that we removed two things you weren’t happy with? The only reason you are hurt is because of your pride. You did not want to be in that job. You did not want that friend around. Why are you upset that you got exactly what you wanted?”
And that really hit me. It truly was only my pride and them making me feel like I wasn’t good enough. Otherwise, it truly, truly was the universe clearing out and letting go of what no longer served me.
They were things I probably should of let go on my own, but since it was the 9 year, end of the cycle, the Universe stepped in to get rid of them for me.
Both of these were huge things learn lessons from in order to end my nine year cycle and move forward into the next cycle fresh, with good vibes, working for myself and ready to go.
They hurt for sure, but I learned some valuable lessons and absolutely healed from both of them along the way.
(I also finally cleared out the pain from both of these in 2022 working in my Akashic Records with Emily the Mystic)
So your 9 cycle may be a lot, it may even feel chaotic at the time, but just know that chaos is the universe rearranging things for your highest good. You must clear out the old in order to start fresh. So, if you’re in this year, pay attention to what lessons you can learn and really work on letting things go. Just know whatever you face this year, a magical new beginning is on it’s way afterwards.
***
And that’s it about your numerology cycles! I hope these helped and explained things for you! Remember, my years will vary from yours. Just because I had a bad or good year is no indication of your year. The number will have a theme, but things may unfold differently for each person based on different factors (like your environment, your mindset, and where you are at your life.)
Now that you know what type of year your year will hold energetically, you can be better equipped to be your strong, amazing self and handle each year confidently <3
